Tips for student to study in New Zealand
1. Cost for study
An English course in here costs 350$ NZ per week or the cheaper one, from 200$ NZ – 250$ NZ per week. There are many other cheaper courses in New Zealand but they are restricted time courses from six months to a year. The average study cost for a college or vocational school is 300$ NZ per week. The tuition fee is paid for each week, so if you want to calculate the total amount for the cost of study, just multiply the tuition fee of a week with four, and then multiply with 12 weeks for 3 months and 52 weeks for a year. You can find more information about the English course, vocational course and specialized course on the school official website.
2. Cost for accommodation
There are some kinds of accommodation for you to choose if you want to study in New Zealand. Firstly, it’s “home stay”, this also the popular choice. You will live in a room with private bathroom and provided food with the expense is 250$ NZ per week. Secondly, that is “cheap motel”. You can live in a private room but have to share the bathroom with others, buy food yourself and have no kitchen for cooking with the expense is 25$ NZ for one night or 175$ NZ per week. Thirdly, you will share an apartment or a house with other students with the expense from 80$ NZ to 100$ NZ for a week. Besides, you need to save 50$ NZ for each week to pay for food, tax, cleaning service, electricity and Internet.
3. Cost for food
Instant noodle should not be your choice for you to eat for a long time, and as soon as you must change to other kind of food to keep your health. If you cook at home, you can save a lot of money and you can consider to spend from 10 $ to 15 $ NZ a day. As calculated, if you buy food and cook yourself, you just spend 80$ NZ but have a nutrition meal.
4. Cost for transportation
The best way to save it is renting a house near the school for you easier to walk to. But if your house is too far for walking, the reasonable way is going by bus for the expense is 4,40$ NZ a day or 22$ NZ per week. Besides, you can buy a bike and ride it to anywhere you want to go to, or you can buy a car but don’t forget the cost for gas and maintenance.
We hope that with these tips, you can plan your plans in the most reasonable and effective way when studying abroad, not only in New Zealand but in any other countries like Australia, Germany, France and etc.
